FERAL CAT SANCTUARY
BEAUTIFICATION & EXPANSION PROJECT

Valley Animal Center's Art O'Brien Feral Cat Sanctuary has seen many improvements throughout the years, but none that dramatically improve the lives of the over 70 feral cats who call it home.

In 2023, with the help of our generous supporters and cat lovers, we hope this will change once the Feral Cat Sanctuary Beautification and Expansion Project is underway and complete.

About the Sanctuary

The Feral Cat Sanctuary was founded by Art O’Brien, a local animal advocate who has cared for hundreds of homeless cats in his lifetime. It provides a vast outdoor area for our local feral cat community and includes indoor shelter with a high-end cooling system, a food area to nourish the cats, and large litter boxes.

About Art O'Brien

Art began his volunteer journey at Valley Animal Center when the facility first opened. Today, he is retired and volunteers three mornings a week. He has pledged to donate $30,000 to the Feral Cat Sanctuary Beautification and Expansion Project, and invites you to donate as well. We thank Art for his pledge and continued partnership.

About the Project

The expansion will take place on the opposite side of the current yard. Funds allocated to the project will help us continue to implement routine physical exams on all feral residents, install a new chain link fence and reinforce the current one, secure permits, and add air conditioning and electricity.

Please note that the Feral Cat Sanctuary consists of feral cats in our community. Currently, we do not take in ferals from other communities. The expansion will serve to improve the lives of our current feral residents and there are no plans to accept more at this time. We thank you for helping us improve the lives of the more than 70 feral cats in our care!
