Peter was my best buddy for over sixteen years. I adopted him when the Valley Animal Center was still the Feline Foundation. I went to look at the kittens and Peter, eight weeks old, climbed into my lap and won my heart. I lost my dad the previous year and he helped me through my grief. When I relocated to the D.C. area, he stayed in California and took wonderful care of my mom. He died in my arms during one of my visits to Fresno. I think of him almost every day.
