FEATURING
A 2,000 gallon canine wading pool complete with water jets
An agility course play area
A grassy land with trees divided into several spacious dog runs based on canine size
MEMBERSHIP
All potential canine members must be at least 6 months of age, spayed or neutered, up-to-date on their vaccinations, and temperament-tested before being admitted into the dog park.
Vaccination Records
You need to provide proof that your dog(s) are current on the following vaccinations: Rabies, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Canine Influenza (H3N2 AND H3N8), and DA2PPv (or an equivalent - see the membership packet for accepted vaccines).
Proof of spay or neuter
Verification can be through spay or neuter certificate, paperwork from a veterinarian, boarding facility, etc. that states they are spayed or neutered, or visual inspection. Visual inspection of males does not require a tattoo. For females, a visible tattoo or spay scar is required for visual inspection.
Temperament Testing
As part of the application process, your dog will be required to undergo a short temperament test. Temperament tests are only conducted Tuesdays - Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Appointments are not needed, but you are welcomed to schedule a temperament test in advanced by emailing us at dogpark@valleyanimal.org. If you come on a day not listed for temperament testing, you will have to return at another time.

TESTIMONIALS
"[The Dr. James W. Thornton Dog Park] is perfect for us. Keena loves the nice dog runs, the agility area, and especially the swimming pool. I love the caring and professional staff, the amenities of the dog park, the initial screening process and follow-up, and the secure location with a members-only locked gate. I would highly recommend the dog park to anyone who wants a loving, secure and playful pack for their 'fur babies.'"
- Michael Cunningham, Keena's Dad
ABOUT MICHAEL & KEENA
Michael Cunningham and his Catahoula Leopard mix, Keena, have been members of our Dr. James W. Thornton Dog Park for more than six years. Keena was rescued from Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center and though she rarely "talks," she howls when she feels the need to. She is very friendly to both people and dogs, and can be seen at the dog park nearly every morning.
