Want to take teaching outside of the classroom?
Valley Animal Center can help!

Valley Animal Center offers 20 different classes free of charge to schools and groups across the Central Valley, both at our facility and at the school or group’s location. Classes are based around Character Counts! Curriculum and California teaching standards and are geared to different age groups, age pre-school to adult, depending on the class.

Many class presentations feature our shelter’s Education and Outreach dogs as demonstration animals for the presentation or they can be added to the class visit if you would like. Our Education and Outreach dogs have been certified through Therapy Dogs International and are specially trained to work with children. As field trips and presentations are free of charge and made possible by the generosity of the community, interested classrooms are encouraged to fundraise or collect supplies from our shelter’s wish list of most-needed items to help the animals in our care. Offer your students a unique, fun, and educational way to be involved within their community while learning about animals and to be responsible pet owners! For more information or to get information on how we can tailor a presentation to your needs, please contact Shannon Escobedo, Valley Animal Center Volunteer and Humane Education Manager, as 559-233-8690 or at [email protected].
