DARIUS
Animal ID: 15681
Darius is a 10 year old boxer/pit bull mix. He is very calm and with time he would make a perfect snuggle buddy on the couch. Unfortunately, he has been in shelter for a total of 1,004 days.1,004 days without a home and 1,004 days without somebody to love. Darius is often overlooked because he has a problem getting along with other dogs. With time and patience he would make a great addition to any family, he just needs to be given a chance. Please, he’s waiting for you!

FIDO
Animal ID: 24930
Fido is a 10 year old American pit bull mix that loves to run and play, he is especially vocal during tug of war. Although he is a sweet and loving boy, he has been in a shelter for 701 days. Fido has a hard time getting along with other dogs making it easy for people to consider him for adoption. People may consider him not a perfect dog but we believe he's a good boy. Will you give Fido a chance?

JOJO
Animal ID: 24056
Jojo is a 5 year old dalmatian mix and has some behavioral issues that are common for his breed. He will need to be the only pet in the household, we would go as far to say that he needs an adult only household. Being a behavior dog, Jojo will need someone that can give him extra attention and will need to work with a dog trainer for the foreseeable future. However overwhelming dogs like Jojo can be, it can also be doubly rewarding. This #NationalDogWeek let us remember that every dog deserves to be loved by somebody. Here at Valley Animal Center we believe that every pet deserves a loving home and that no pet is perfect. It is in those flaws a real connection is waiting.

KILOWATT
Animal ID: 23879
Kilowatt is a 3 year old pit bull that earned her namesake by being a furry ball of energy. She is a very active girl that needs a lot of attention and can get anxious when she is alone. Kilowatt will be best suited for a home where someone can be with her for most of the day. She is also very dog selective, so a meet and greet is highly recommended. She has been in and out of our care for years now but we are still hoping to find a home for her. It is hard for us to find homes for pets that have been in shelter for a prolonged period of time Throughout #NationalDogWeek we like to bring awareness to long term dogs like Kilowatt and to remind people that all dogs deserve love and a place to call home.

MOTHER GOTHAL
Animal ID: 25031
Mother Gothal is approximately a 3-year-old lab/pit bull mix and was brought to us in November of 2021. She has a very calm demeanor but does have plenty of energy when it comes to play time. She is great on leash and loves walks. All around a great dog but is often passed for adoption because she does struggle with behavioral issues. She is not great with dogs or cats, and finds it hard to live in a large family setting. She would feel more comfortable in a quieter and smaller household. Mother Gothal has been waiting for so long, We believe her perfect home is still out there. #NationalDogWeek celebrates dogs and brings awareness to those in need. Mother Gothal needs you to give her own happily ever after.

SANTANA
Animal ID: 23391
She is a pit-bull/terrier mix that was brought to us in 2020. Here, she gave birth to 6 puppies who have all found their furever homes. Sadly, after all she has been through she has yet to find her furever home. She is such a sweet girl that loves giving hugs and sneaking kisses. We suspect that she is often overlooked because she isn’t too fond of other dogs and is recommended to reside in a single dog household. She can be nervous but like most dogs coming from a shelter environment she needs time to adjust. She is longing to find a place where she can be happy and be showered with love and affection. We know there is home out there for her and this #NationalDogWeek we want to remind people there is no such thing as a perfect dog but there are perfect matches.

SIERRA
Animal ID: 24348
This #NationalDogWeek we wanted to highlight some of the long term adoptables that have been struggling to find a home. Sierra is a very good dog, she loves to run and play. However, she does tend to be shy and would prefer a quieter home. somewhere she can be herself. She has so much love to give but sadly she is often passed by adopters because she was diagnosed with kidney disease. This can often deter adopters, thinking that caring for pets afflicted by this disease can be too costly and time consuming. The reality being not as drastic, Sierra just needs special food to keep her strong and healthy. As well as semi-regular vet visits to monitor her condition. Please don’t turn away from Sierra.

SORA
Animal ID: 24674
Meet Sora a long term adoptable that wanted to feature during #NationalDogWeek. Sora is another one of our dogs that is often overlooked and just wants to find a place to call home. The problem being that she can be considered too high energy. With the added consideration that she has trouble getting along with other dogs, and is recommended to stay in a single pet household. She is passed by other adopters and that does take a toll on any pet. She doesn’t understand why someone won't care for her. She needs someone to be loving and patient with her. Can that be you?
