Clear the Shelters, spearheaded by NBC Universal Local, is a month-long movement to encourage so many adoptions that we clear our shelters, and at Valley Animal Center, we have created the ultimate adoption experience this August!
Inspired by the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando and their Pawgwarts adoption campaign, our dogs and cats have been assessed by our animal care staff, and based on their personalities and behaviors, we have sorted them into four different dinosaurs.

The theme is inspired by the 1993 science fiction film, Jurassic Park, and its subsequent installments. By showcasing our dogs and cats in a fun way, we hope to provide potential adopters the opportunity to be imaginative in their adoption journey.

Welcome to Purrassic Bark, a Clear the Shelters and Super Adoption 2022 adoption adventure!
Every year, Valley Animal Center joins forces with various local shelters and rescues to host the largest adoption event in the Central Valley. Thanks to huge advancements in scientific technology this year, we created an island full of prehistoric dogs and cats. We're maximizing our efforts and making Super Adoption the culmination event of our Clear the Shelters adoption campaign.
Purrasic Bark opens its gates August 27th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A team of dedicated scientists and park rangers have populated Valley Animal Center with dogs and cats in order to attract visitors from all over the Central Valley. Visit Purrasic Bark and meet hundreds of animals waiting to be discovered! Explore the impact you can have as a human being on earth and save the date!
