ABOUT ALISÍA
Alisía was born and raised in Bakersfield, Calif. She attended Bakersfield College and received her associate's degree in journalism before attending California State University, Bakersfield. In 2018, Alisía received her Bachelor's in Communications and Studio Art.
Alisía is a talented writer, photographer and multimedia journalist. She was selected for publication in the second Fall 2015 issue of Roughneck Review, a Bakersfield College biannual online journal that features work judged exceptional by faculty members and was featured in the Bakersfield Museum of Art's Art After Dark March 2018 event, "Spring Break Forever," a video program of CSUB student work.
Alisía has covered a range of stories, from hard news to feature stories, including "Reading Rainbow" and "Star Trek" star, LeVar Burton, when he appeared at the Bakersfield Barnes & Noble in 2014 for a reading of his first children's book, "The Rhino Who Swallowed a Storm."
Alisía has experience working with nonprofit organizations and continues to volunteer her time and services to Save A Life Today, a nonprofit organization dedicated to suicide prevention and awareness in Kern County.
Currently, as the Marketing Manager at Valley Animal Center, Alisía oversees the organization's digital media and communications efforts. She produces quality social media content, takes photographs, produces videos, engages with the community and local media outlets, and coordinates events and special projects.
In her spare time, Alisía enjoys watching movies and playing with her dog, DW, and three cats, Max, Emmy and Bright Eyes.
