Celebrate responsible pet ownership during the Humane Society of the United States National Spay Day USA!

Each year, the Humane Society of the United States encourages pet owners to do their part to help end the pet overpopulation crisis by spaying and neutering their pets.

Why is it important?

  • The Central Valley currently has the third highest euthanasia rate in the entire country. This is because too many pets are born each year, and there are just not enough homes for them. We can save animals lives by spaying and neutering our own pets!
Statistics

Think your pet isn’t part of the problem?

  • Did you know that in 9 years, an unspayed female cat, her mate, and all of their offspring producing 2 liters per year, with 2.8 surviving kittens per litter can total 11,606,077. View this graphic to see the math for yourself, or download our Spay and Neuter Math Facts, and share this information with your children!

The Valley Animal Center also wants to help you do your part by spaying and neutering your pets in our low-cost spay and neuter clinic. We offer low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats year-round, but in celebration of Spay Day USA on February 23rd, 2010, we have a special offer for your feline friends!

On February 23rd, 2010 we are offering spays and neuters at a special price of $15 per surgery for the first 40 cats who schedule an appointment by calling 559-233-8554.

For more information, including our regular pricing for spay and neuter procedures, by emailing our clinic, or by calling them at 559-233-8554.
